Your thoughts....I am feeling great but have not lost any weight

Hi I am a 52F, 5’6” & 140 pounds…..I mostly sit in front of the computer most days for work. I occasionally go for a walk but I have not been consistent.

Since September 2021 my diet has been 2 coffees in the morning; 2 liters of water throughout the day and dinner my only meal. I usually cook at home so I can control the portions, etc. but there are no food restrictions. I never eat past 7pm and I am usually awake by 7am including weekends.

I feel great. Not sluggish, more alert, not hungry……..but why am I not losing weight? Is it lack of exercise? If so, what should I incorporate into my routine?

I literally did not lose any weight for the first 3 months of doing fasting… And then all at once I lost 20 lb. Everyone is different and it is a roller coaster. Just be patient. Stop looking at the scale and worrying about weight… Just go with how you feel and how your clothes are fitting… That will give you a better measurement in my opinion.

What does a dinner typically look like? You may just be eating at maintenance levels. You’re sort of in the middle of the healthy range for your height, so losing weight without a lot of exercise may require dedicated calorie counting.

Ok I’m pretty much the exact same as you…also 5’6 and right now 139lbs. I initially started trying to lose a bit of weight in mid November 2019 and it took me four solid months of counting every calorie to drop from 140lbs to 130lbs. I’ve always done a lot of exercise and kept this up during that time.Fast forward another six months from then and I was at 120lbs. What I’m saying is I think it’s basically always going to be slow going because in the grand scheme of things we don’t really have a lot to lose. I got sick of it and ate what I wanted for a while and here I am back at 139lbs just now. It’s tough and takes a lot of dedication and patience but you can do it! I think you just need to be prepared to keep at it for quite a while.
