Zero Fasting App - Fat burn zone is always delayed... why?

I’ve been using Zero, and I know not to give too much credence to the zones it gives, as they are guidelines and suggestions. Without actually measuring blood glucose I would be hard pressed to be accurate.

Currently doing 18:6 intermittent fasting (minimum. It often goes longer than that to 20:4, or OMAD, but my 18:6 is my minimum goal each day). I’m fairly active, lifting 3x/week right now and doing a lot of low intensity cardio with either yoga or ruck walks (20 lb weight vest).

But the Zero app always puts my zones as “less efficient” and I struggle to understand why. Any ideas?

Answer

I think it changes based upon what your last meal was. I think it pushes the zones back if you you record that you’ve had a higher carb meal for your final meal.

I could be wrong as I’m going by memory. I haven’t used it since last year. But I’m pretty sure it is adaptive. Which is cool in theory at least. I got sick of moving the macro sliders every time I had my last meal.
