Answer

I think what we often overlook is how we got introduced to food as a newborn. Breastmilk, baby food, single ingredients easy to chew foods. Cooked and baked goods come quite late.

This is pure theory, but what I think happens is that the cells and the immune system truly resets when we fast. The healing from fasting happens through a cellular reset button. We’ve gone back to square one. Our cells act like they’ve never seen (certain types of) food before. Some foods are more difficult to digest than others, some can irritate the cells (especially the popular allergens). We can go back to “normal digestion” by slowly introducing them back.

Answer

Probably yes, but I think it is a very difficult matter.

In my case, I have developed some food “allergies” or intolerances. For example, if I eat dairy, I get a lot of mucus in my nose and ears. I think that this happens because my immune system is not working ok and gets pissed of by dairy (although I have been eating dairy my entire life).

Anyways, the hard part is that I think it will take a very long dry fast to heal this. I have just tried 4 days, I will try a 7 day to see If it improves.
