How healthy (or unhealthy) is Panda Express?

I’m talking about food items such as white rice, super greens, and the broccoli beef. It can’t be all that bad for you right?

Answer

It depends on your choices. Its fast food but some items are healthier than othersFor example:

Healthier:Broccoli beef is 150 calBlack Pepper Steak 180 calFirecracker shrimp 110 cal Cup of hot and sour soup 120 cal

Not so healthy:Orange chicken is 490 cal

Get the Super Greens Veggies at 90 cal rather than Chow Mien at 510 calOr brown rice at 420 cal or Fried rice at 520 cal

Look up the calorie amd sodium in the menu items to choose the healthier options.

Answer

Not the best choice but you could be making worse choices. Everything is covered is sauces or deep fried so you will have unnecessary calories even with the grilled chicken due to it sitting in sauce overnight. You can look at there menu for most of the caloric info though and they do offer some “lighter” options calorie wise.

It varies wildly by plate. There are lots of dishes that have quite a bit of sugar, and of course the rice is a lot of carbs.

Answer

Lol as I eat my white rice/chow me in, orange chicken and teriyaki chicken plate.

What others have said, there are healthier options than what I had, sodium content is going to be high in everything they have, that’s why it tastes good. Ingredients are fresh, you can see from their fridge.

Indulge in Panda every once in a blue moon and don’t feel bad about it ! Just don’t make it a weekly habit. Letting go of the feeling that what you’re eating it terrible for you and you should feel bad about it is the first step to enjoying food and becoming a more intuitive eater. We’re not perfect :)
