60hrs in to my longest DF. Hot weather concerns

Hey all, I’m currently on my longest dryfast - 60hrs in so far and feeling pretty good, with my plan to go for 100hrs.

However, the weather is starting to move into a heatwave and not sure what to look out for in terms of when to stop the fast.

Not experiencing anything crazy at the moment just generally slower physically and ketosis breath heart rate below 100 bpm. But wanted to be on the prepared side for what to look out for.

What are your red flags for when to withdraw in a hot weather DF?

Answer

My red flags are… don’t break the fast until you absolutely have to.

Just monitor your heart rate and keep going. If it’s below 120 at rest and you feel like you can keep going, you’re fine. You got this. This is not medical advice.

Answer

My red flag would be a heat stroke. Don’t be afraid to sweat or walk in the heat. Try to stay in a shade though. And fill up your bath with some coldest water you can get and enjoy it. Nothing like a cold bath when dry fasting

Thanks for the comments guys, I ended up at 65hrs as I was feeling weak… but think next time I can hang in there.

I transitioned into a 24hr water fast (perhaps aka slow refeed ??) just to enjoy the ketosis a little longer. Now doing refeed a la Filinov, probiotics, bone broth and kefir.

Plan is to go DF again on Monday and with the cooler weather hopefully be able to go further in.
