I’ve read several threads about how fasting reduced high blood pressure but it’s not clear whether this change is from weight loss or because of fasting. Should you be worried if you have low body weight and fasting everyday for maintenance? Will everyday fasting (21-3) affect blood pressure if theres no weight change? thanku =)
If you already have a low body weight, I’d consult with a medical professional before attempting fasting. But given that you’ve stated in a previous post that your BMI is 19, I’d say it’s probably a no to prolonged fasting. Not just because of your blood pressure, but because without the necessary excess stores or fat that your body will need to rely on for energy during fasting periods, your blood sugar is more likely to drop and you’ll probably feel very drained and exhausted.
