Can dry fasting actually help me gain weight?

So I am looking to add more weight on my body. I have had serious autoimmune and still have a ton of health issues. I had my colon removed and have a jpouch. Using good diet, dry fasting and some well rounded protocol to heal myself.

Is it possible that if I heal my gut from dry fasting that my body will be able to absorb food better and help me gain weight? I had inflammation issues in my gut and therefore struggle with getting enough calories absorbed and food sensitivies. Thanks!

Answer

Given the existing medical history, You should consult your Dr. or a Dr. If your body is already not absorbing nutrients properly you might be starting at a deficit and therefore you cant just follow regular dry fast plan out there.

Imo, you might want to look at water fasting with mineral supplements before you jump into dry fast.
