Can fasting help with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency

I have a friend with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Basically the pancreas isn’t producing enough enzymes. Does anyone know if dry fasting can help?

Answer

It’s possible. Fasting does seem to stimulate stem cell growth upon refeeding.

But there are also non-insulin-dependant pathways in which energy can move into a cell. The saturated fat Stearic Acid seems to help glucose enter a cell despite insulin-resistance (or the lack of insulin). Also, fats can enter cells without the need for insulin.
