I would like to tell you about my latest experience of slightly modified dry fasting.
I love coffee and I love dry fasting. This time I was unable to eliminate caffeine a few days before the start of my fast (not planned by the way) and therefore, during my 5 days of dry fasting, to compensate for the severe test sore I drank three restricted espresso (italian way).
I know this is not a “pure” dry fast but I wanted to say that I have felt many benefits, both physical and mental, in completing these 5 days of DF with some coffee.
I think 5 days done in this way are better than 5 days of normal nutrition: what do you think?
I take caffeine pills when I havent weened off before a dry fast and try to limit them to a minimum. I find that the caffeine does push water out of my body and I urinate more in the next couple hours after consuming.
As someone who once had an autoimmune condition, I found coffee, not caffeine, to irritate it, so i stay away and use it as a treat occasionally. I find, for me, coffee iritates my gut.
I definitely think you can still reap benefits from windows of dry fasting. I think it has alot to do with why one fasts- a little weight loss vs eradicating a severe medical condition. Snake diet Cole Robinson isn’t a supporter of coffee or caffeine. But cold turkey caffeine is rough
And yes, 5 days dry with only a couple expressos is still more healing than a normal day by miles, especially if you have those expressos daily anyway
I just finished my 90hr dry fast with a couple of double espresso shots. Felt great and the same “dryness” as with a normal soft dry fast. Coffee seems to push more water out and I think it’s a major factor here. Besides “ristretto” is something like 20 to 30ml of liquid so I think you’re good mate.Coffee addict here too.Kudos
