How would you calculate nutritional info of homemade cream of rice?

I initially thought to go based off of weight and compare it to what’s listed on the back of the rice package. But then I thought that there’s a lot more water in the cream of rice compared to regular rice so wasn’t sure if this was accurate.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Answer

The nutrition info on a rice packet is usually for uncooked rice. Use that and add the nutrition info of any other non-water ingredients you include (milk, butter, etc.). If you are making multiple portions at once, divide the total nutrition info by the number of portions.

Answer

  1. Add the nutrients of the ingredients together (absolute numbers)
  2. Weigh your end product.
  3. Drive nutrients by weight (eg let’s say your product weighs 700 grams and the ingredients added to 50 grams of protein you have around 0,07g of protein per gram of food or in other words 7g of protein per 100g
