I got this new protein powder that tasted really really sweet but has less than 1g of added sugar. I checked the ingredients and I saw sucralose so i looked it up and it’s an artificial sweetener. In this specific case, it says “less than 2% of the following” and lists sucralose after. What exactly does that mean? Is it safe to consume?
Sucralose is an artificial sweetener derived from sugar. Because the body cannot break it down, it is considered calorie-free. It’s considered safe to consume by most of the international community, including FDA, WHO, and even the EU. The more well-known name for it is Splenda.
