I was recently told I am prediabetic. In the mornings in particular my blood sugar is high. My A1c for the last couple years has gone back-and-forth between fairly prediabetic and normal. Still waiting on the results for this year but my doctor was nice enough to inform me that the last few years of readings show that I’ve been prediabetic for sometime.
I’ve been doing one or two 36-48 hour fasts each month. Essentially long enough to get my blood sugar into the 90s and keep it there for a day or two. And assists with a little bit of weight loss as well. So far I’m down almost 30 pounds, mostly with 16:8 IF over the last 10 months.
yes fasting will help a lot to kick start your metabolism
Having said that in order for it to be meaningful you will need to rethink what you are eating as fasting need to be part of an overall strategy
having said that it is good that you realize that changes need to be made
