I know someone probably asked before but are raw vegetables okay or are they better cooked?
Think there’s an argument to be made getting some microbes from raw vegetables that are in and around the soil. Depending on if the conditions of the soil or fertilization method are safe, veggies prepped with rinse/scrub. Cooking generally makes it more bioavailable, readily absorbed and safer from contamination.
I knew some Russian gals that emigrated and they refused to eat anything raw and insisted everything is peeled and boiled first. I asked them about it and said back home human manure was used sometimes and people got sick eating it raw. So under ideal conditions raw veggies are probably fine.
