This is my first time dry fasting, but I did do a smoothie detox before so my body should be used to not eating. I plan on doing a 5 day fast and moving to an 7 day fast if I feel healthy enough. Could you guys give me some signs that my body might be telling me to break the fast so I don’t endanger my health. I also have ADHD and take Adzenys XR-ODT will that effect the fast??Thank you so much!! Ps-my main reason for this is to lose weight I’m 155cm and 90kg. Any tips would be appreciated!!
If your resting heart rate elevates to above 120, for longer than a couple of minutes.
Another one to look for, is if your blood sugar drops very low and you’re feeling dizzy, shaking and woozy/confused. Look up the symptoms of this.
You will lose a lot of weight on a dry fast, but you will put all back on with a day or two if you back to eating your normal diet. A lot of people find go back onto a carnivore or keto diet is what keeps that weight off after fasting. If you’re vegetarian keep it is low carb as possible.
welcome to the world of dry fasting. what are your experiences with fasting?
if none and given the meds you’re on, take things very cautiously because no one here knows what will happen to you when you’re on those meds in a fasted, totally empty stomach.
if you have never dry fasted before please be aware water fasting and dry fasting are very different with how the mind and body respond to everything especially to your meds.
my personal advice is to first read up on the symptoms of electrolyte deficiencies, the most common is hyponatremia which is low levels in sodium in the blood, this is more commonly known as dehydration.
after you read up and are ready to start your dry fast, have some himalayan salt per 24 hours and take note how you’re reacting in a dry fast. find out if a hard dry fast versus a soft dry fast is more manageable for your life. imo a hard dry fast does a better job.
and lastly for long term weight loss you need to put in the work to make it a sustainable goal: significantly reduce carbs and sugar, exercise at least 4 times a week with cardio each time, rest and recovery most importantly because without knowing how to stretch and massage and use ice packs, you’ll burnout.
Tips, start with water fast, do 1day, then 2day, then 3day, then 4day
then try dry fast
5 or 7 is hardcore and you’ll probably fail.
If you keep thinking about food, and your brain will keep trying to give you reasons to think about food, you will get hard-to-stop urges to eat lots and will give in and break the fast as if under a spell.
To lose weight, fasting 2 days out of 7 is enough to get smooth weight loss.
I doubt you will be able to kill yourself through sheer willpower your first time fasting. People chew their own fingers off or eat trees in desperations of hunger.
