66 hours into 115 fast and felt terrible

I woke up this morning at 4am and had the lovely “too much energy because I’m fasting” so I couldn’t go back to sleep. The longer I lay there I started feeling worse and worse until I got up at 5am to have my morning electrolytes and looked at my black coffee and just couldn’t do it. I put in about 2 tbsp of whole milk in and it was the most wonderful thing ever. I don’t normally mind black coffee but the nausea this morning was too much.

It’s about 5 hours later and my tummy is definitely making some weird rumblings but I feel so much better. I used to see this as not a true fast. I don’t know what coffee or milk does to autophagy but I’m glad I didn’t though the who fast out the window for one rough morning (which is totally fine if someone does!)

Answer

Listen to your body.

If you start to feel ill, headache, lower arterial pressure: Just stop the fast.

Eat something light. If your body is feeling unwell, its better to stop or it can cause worse problems.

Stopping a fast does not mean you are a failure. Just means your body was not ready for it.

My max fast was 69h. A lot of times I dropped early because I was feeling unwell.

I’m currently in the midst of 120 (5 day) fast and day 3 is always the hardest for me! I’m also 67 hours in right now and I have daydreamed about food alllllll day.

Are you adding potassium and magnesium? I find that these two minerals are a game changer for me when trying to feel good while fasting. The magnesium might help with your sleep too!
