Fasting and estrogens

I used to be a very thin lady, interestingly, I couldn’t get pregnant at that weight and had issues with my cycle. When I gained 2 kg I got pregnant suddenly.

Now 8 years and 2 babies later, I am finding myself getting a ‘set point’ of 4 kg higher than that. My BMI is about 23 and my hip waist ratio is healthy. I do weights, pilates and sometimes cardio. I do 16:8, 18:6 sometimes and the occasional OMAD. I don’t know what my body fat is, but in the old days I had a trainer use of those scans on me and get 13% and she was surprised that it was so low.

I find it interesting that my body just doesn’t want to go back down to the previous weight. Whenever I try through diet or exercise, my hunger levels are very high. My cycle is monthly after years of every 2 months. This article claims its to do with hormones and fertility. What does everyone else think?I have my period today and really want to eat, but had planned another OMAD - so reading what I can about this…

Libraries have Fung’s books in audio and hard copy and e-copy. Also audio on iTunes etc.

Listening to his Obesity Code podcast made the info simple and also extremely motivating because each episode is a real life success story.

As Fung would say ..”It’s free, so why wouldn’t ya do it?” (he’s a character and really funny)

So I read the book and I am thinking it might be my POTS that I developed after kids. POTS is triggered by histamines sometimes and when I get an allergic reaction, I get super hungry. I just noticed it tonight when I had a reaction and my throat was suddenly super dry, then I started salivating and all I could think of was a sandwich. It wasn’t real hunger. I had kept my fasting window but eaten two meals and a snack so calories were probably high enough ( I don’t count).
