Fasting for 22 hrs and calorie restricting, still gaining weight?

Pretty much as it says in the title. I also track macros and mostly focus on protein and Fats. I limit carbs esp refined carbs because of PCOS. I work out 3 days a week and the days I don’t workout I still try to get at-least 5000-7000 steps in. Yet I have been stuck on plateau for months now. I currently consume 1200-1500 calories a day. My weight currently is 65 kgs (2 months ago it went down to 62-65)and Im 155.4 cm. I have been fasting for months and I really want to reach 60 kgs by Dec. How do I get over this plateau?

Answer

Focus less on the scale and more on how you feel and how clothes fit. You may be trading fat for muscle and the scale could obscure that.

I have hit weight plateaus but still noticed other signs of progress during the plateau.

So many options… This is what I would do:Go back to basics.

I second the longer fasts. Even a 24hr once or twice a week or even a longer single fast in the week to shake things up.

Another suggestion is to drink more water. I took time off work for the last 2 weeks and noticed a weird 3-4lb increase in weight. I wasn’t eating more (maybe moving less - but I work in front of the computer anyway)…so I couldn’t figure it out. Then someone just posted they doubled their water intake and saw a downward movement in weight. I realized when I’m home I forget to drink water, so yesterday I paid attention and drank closer to my usual amount while at work 2.5L and voila! I dropped back down to my usual weight this morning!
