Fasting for Autoimmune

Has anyone here done extended fasting to put their auto immune disease into remission?

I just finished a 7 day fast and my anklosing spondylitis pain decreased but didn’t go away by any means. Curious to hear anyone else’s experience

Congratulations on completing your 7 day fast!!
You did it!! No offense, one fast might start lowering the inflammation levels in your body. It might take more than one to get you into full remission.

I am 10 months in remission from sarcoidosis. I attribute regular extended fasts, low dose CBD pills Cannabidiol and treatments by my chiropractor that practices orthospinology.
I know Chiros have a bad rep but I believe in mine. By the way, CBD does not cause a “high” like THC.

For the first time in 8 years, I am not getting infusions of remicade every 8 to 12 weeks. Or sleeping my life away due to the fatigue which is different from being tired. That “off feeling” that was hard to describe is gone, as well. I am in remission!!

But I don’t fast for 7 days. My longest fast is for 5 days. I don’t have your discipline OP! I like to challenge myself to a 40 hour fast once a week. And throw in a 24 hour fast weekly as well. I will probably do ADF using Spam and pickles after Thanksgiving.

I get labs every 90 days, too. My VA rheumatologists are shocked by my results. But they cannot discuss the benefits of low dose CBDs because it’s medical marijuana. And they would never discuss fasting, either. I started fasting because I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Cole Robinson’s Snake Diet method have forever changed my life.

Good luck OP!
