Title says it all. Where I live everyone I know is getting covid. We test for it at work and every day I see the high number of positive cases. I was super pumped to start this new year with a solid fast, but now I don’t think it’s such a good idea. Anyone else trying to weigh the health benefits of fasting versus accidentally fasting while getting exposed to covid? I stopped going out, but my kid’s school doesn’t have a mask mandate anymore so….
Would even a short 36 hour fast lower immunity that much to matter or is it more like several day long fasts start to impact immunity. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
You can fast, but if you feel sick stop!Seriously.I learned the hard way.
I started a water fast, got covid, ended fasting 4 days later (I couldn’t eat but still)2 months later, I still have bad post-covid.
Personally any time I feel a bit under the weather after going out I usually will stop fasting and up my intake. I was in the middle of fasting when I fell ill with COVID and definitely think it made my sickness so much worse, I thought I was healthy prior but felt so weak and had an extremely high fever for a very long time, I had never been that sick before and breaking that fast was extremely difficult and honestly just all felt horrible, this was almost a year ago now but still any time I feel under the weather stopping my fasts and getting a test has become my routine.
No, unless I test positive and see how it affects me, I plan to keep going till my goal. I’m not sure about the impacts on immunity and I don’t have anyone leaving the house for school/work so I plan to keep going.
