Answer

To reduce swelling afaik, some weight loss.

Had to weigh a guy every day to make sure his congestive heart failure didn’t go bonkers. They had him on restricted fluids, so 1,000 mL for his pills. He’d ask for popsicles frequently, and ate normal. Within like 3 or 4 weeks of this, he dropped 20 pounds, but there was a lot of swelling in his feet.

Yesterday I pretty much did a dry fast, water with my vitamins, and fasted for like 22 hours until I ruined it. Best I’ve felt in a while.

If you’re someone, like me, who used to believe that drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water a day is healthy, there is benefit in switching to drinking only in response to thirst because you conserve your electrolytes. I personally feel much better since ignoring the old health advice of drinking lots of water.

Also, I’m not aware of any studies that speak to limiting amounts water for people without health issues but I have heard a few anecdotal stories of benefits of time restricted drinking.
