Older

So I look older. I guess I am older than when I was overweight but now I have lines below my eyes like the ones that make you look tired but I sleep 8 hrs everyday so I don’t know why I feel like this. And every morning my face feels slightly puffy (probably not noticeable by others). Maybe I’ll start washing my face with cold water.

Still trying to understand what’s causing it. Maybe I lost a lot of collagen in my face after losing weight? Idk. Anyone have any insight on this?

I think faces tend to be a bit puffy in the morning. If anyone has any ideas on helping that in general i am curious too. If you’re not drinking a ton of water, maybe try improving hydration too and see if that helps.

I have a face ice roller I got on Amazon that I like in the morning and it does help the puffiness somewhat, as well as help me wake up bc of the cold. I keep it in the freezer. Cold water does a similar thing.

As people, particularly women, age we lose fat from our face. This is less noticeable on overweight and obese people.

There are ways to tighten skin and encourage collagen production. Laser and Ultherapy are two options.

Under eyes are a common place to lose fat. This is what makes us look tired. You’re limited on what you can do at home beyond the basics like staying hydrated. If you’ve lost weight the skin will tighten a bit. This takes time and how much it tightens varies from person to person.

One thing to be aware of is that the fat you had would have been “hiding” the natural aging process so losing weight will seem like you’ve aged overnight.

You can get masks to keep in the freezer, face rollers etc. to help with morning puffiness. For me just being upfront and and drinking some water helps with the puffiness.

That certainly is possible. It could also be the fatty tissue on your face as well that has shrunk. Without knowing more it is impossible to say. Your body’s doesn’t acknowledge society’s standard of beauty and from its perspective fat is fat. The more weight you lose, the more likely this kind of thing is to happen.
