OMAD + Resistance Band "Lifting" = No Weight Loss??

I have been doing OMAD for about three/four weeks, and the weight started dropping immediately. I’m down about 15-20 lbs, feeling better physically, my frequent headaches are completely gone, and clothes are fitting better. All things were going well. Until the last week or so. My weight hasn’t dropped at all (and may have even gone up a pound). The only thing I can think of is that I’ve added resistance band training to my routine. I can feel the muscle building. Could it be that I am gaining muscle at the same pound for pound rate that I’m losing fat? This isn’t a complaint post. I’m not planning on stopping either the OMAD or resistance bands. I’m just at a loss for why the scale isn’t moving. Some extra info that might help:

Male, 32, 247 lbs, drink at least 2 gallons of water per day, resistance bands every other day, and consume about 1500 calories in the evening. My eating is super clean 99% of the time. Typical meal consists of lean protein (turkey, chicken, tuna), tons of vegetable melody that I make myself from fresh veggies, a few crackers or some rice, one avocado, and Greek yogurt mixed with protein powder.

Any ideas? TIA!

Answer

That’s unlikely. More likely, you are gaining some muscle and are retaining some water as a response to a new exercise routine. This is common and expected. Give it a couple weeks before you change anything.
