Saving money on groceries!

Since starting IF, I realized that my groceries are being consumed a lot more slowly and intentionally. I got a bunch of healthy greens and vegetables and I am making a lot of salads with them. Before, I would have gotten salad-y things and just let them sit there since I had a frozen pizza in the freezer or prepackaged, easy meals to eat instead. It kind of gives me no choice but to eat healthfully since that’s all I have in the house. I stopped buying junky food (which was sometimes kind of expensive), and I’ve cut down on the amount I’m eating. I just thought I would share and wonder if anyone else has noticed this too!

Answer

This is me exactly!

I always have a meal plan now, so I’m no longer buying groceries haphazardly, and I’m making sure to use everything I buy and not let them go bad.

I’m also eating a lot more of things that are cheaper (beans, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, popcorn, peanut butter) and hardly ever buying fast food or prepared foods anymore.

I’m going to wind up spending the money I’m saving on new clothes!
