I think about all the times I’ve broken my fast early, sure that first sip of water/bite of food is great but then what? All that momentum goes down the drain and you’ve stopped gaining those amazing benefits in an instant. It helps me to remember when I’ve caved to my weakness before and regretted it. I finally hit 72 hours today after multiple attempts and can’t tell you the pride and happiness I feel (along with the mental clarity).

It’s soooo worth it to keep going!!

As far as distracting yourself, a good book or show will help pass the hours by :-)

Answer

I spend that time being creative, going for walks, or getting projects done. I’ve found that it’s especially important to stay away from the kitchen area because then you start thinking about food. Good luck!

Answer

instead of ignoring it, I’ll daydream about food and get really detailed with it. Knowing that eating would not last as long as daydreaming, it kind of helps knowing that I have the option to eat, and food will be there later, but I can probably get more enjoyment out of thinking about food than actually eating it at the moment.

Also, Duolingo or any new skills to learn about.

Answer

Read, write, create art through music, painting, drawing.

Watch classic movies from the past. Watch classic/vintage tv shows from the past.

Hell even play video games(I’d only advise that on a fast).

Work on your goals…1 at the most cause I know on these longer fasts it can get difficult. After the fast you’ll be recharged to crush your goals but during not so much.
