Answer

People get too caught up in looking for the one nutrient or macro thats going to optimise health but unfortunately the human body doesn’t work like that. Its a combination of optimal physical, nutritional, mental, social and environmental factors that will “optimise” health.

Exercising regularly, eating a varied diet with enough proteins and plenty of plants, reducing stress, getting enough sleep, getting sunlight, to name a few… that will benefit overall health.

Answer

My first instinct is to say quality fat. Fat is so important for our hormones, which dictate so many quality of life functions in our body. Most people get enough fat in their diet, but not enough quality fats.

(And water, but not sure you’d count that as a “nutrient”)

But truly, there is no one thing. Our bodies are an ecosystem that needs balance - just enough of all the right things.
