I’ll go first- I have hypersomnia (unexplained EDS) and have cut wakefulness medications in half. 😊
There were 3 things that pushed me to make a change in my diet.
I don’t need to nap every day anymore. My circadian rhythm is perfectly fine at 8 hours. IF / low carb has allowed my body to tap into fat which is like jet fuel for energy. I recently tried to lay down for a nap because I had some free time, and I couldn’t! 🤣
IF gives me more time back. I’m not constantly cooking in the kitchen as I’m doing OMAD. 2 meals when my appetite is big enough. But it’s rare.
IF has shown me how easy it is to have discipline. Results come from your choices. When I hangout with friends and they whine about, “when are you going to get off that diet so we can have fun?!” I feel proud of myself! Food doesn’t rule my life and isn’t the only way to have fun.
There’s no more “heavy breather” on videos I record. That realization was huge for me.
Edit: I range between 18:6 or 22:2 with a 48hr long-fast every other week. I’ve only been at this for six weeks so far.
Idk if this one counts since it’s basically directly related to weight, but I have added several holes to my belts. Sometimes I look in the mirror and can’t see a difference but the belt doesn’t lie! I can see all the wear at the hole I used to use for my every day belt and it makes me happy that I’m like 7 holes away from it now.
I have mild acne and still do my normal skincare routine, but I’ve had waaay fewer breakouts and they’re more limited to my temples rather than my hole forehead. Idk if weight loss has any impact on acne but I’ve made better food choices and don’t eat nearly as often since I started OMAD so that’s probably why.
