Dating and intermittent fasting!

I love fasting! I have been doing IF on an off for 4 years. And I was on keto for a year and half (luckily my ex wanted to do it with me). And recently I have been stricter with IF and healthier diet. Recently I had medical complications, severe stress and medication reaction spiking my insulin and causing a ton of up and down in my weight so I am back on IF to get better.

Here’s when it gets tough- I am absolutely fine fasting, eating healthy etc but when I decide to go on dates options are alcohol or desserts for most people. I don’t want to do either. I don’t drink anyway and I don’t want to be guilted in desserts. And some days I just don’t want to eat (I am working towards my. 48 hr fast)

I also don’t want the other person to think I am crazy or extreme.

Any advice?

So don’t go on a dinner date? I’m not dating, but when I have big dinner plans or holidays, I just fast around them. Normally, I’m 16:8 but switch to omad sometimes for social events. I lost a few pounds over the holidays with this strategy, and for Thanksgiving and Chrismas, dinner basically ate what I wanted. I try to fit my diet into my life and not the other way around.

Being social in the middle of a 48-hour fast does sound tough. Can’t really help there.

Answer

If your date ridicules you or doesn’t respect your choice of healthy lifestyle, then you probably wouldn’t want to be with such a judgmental person anyway. Think of it as a quick way to filter out incompatible people.
