Bought Costco’s Deglet Noor dates and the pack says 0mg Iron. I am confused. Are there any particular variety of dates that are rich in Iron
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, a single Medjool date has 66.5 calories and provides:
18 grams (g) of carbohydrates.16 g of sugars (principally glucose and fructose)1.6 g of dietary fibre0.4 g of protein
One Medjool date also provides many minerals such as:
167 milligrams (mg) of potassium15.4 mg of calcium14.9 mg of phosphorus13 mg of magnesium0.216 mg of iron
Medjool dates do not contain much protein or fat. However, they are a great source of energy, most of which comes from sugars. They contain a large amount of fibre. Medjool dates contain also particularly high levels of potassium. In fact, per gram, Medjool dates contain roughly twice as much potassium as a banana.
Medjool dates are my preferred dates, and I consider the premium price worth paying because of their excellent flavour.
