Answer

Health is influenced by so many factors with diet being just one.

Yeah there is some loss with reheating. But the benefits of eating leftover meals made at home where you control the ingredients outweigh those losses. Savings on eating out and reducing food waste are pretty big imo. Food waste alone is about 30-40% of the food supply in U.S. Plus you get more variety in your diet which is key to good nutrition. For me, if I eat out, I want quality tasting meals that I can’t recreate at home. If I can make it just as good or better at home I’d rather save my money.

More important, cooking at home and recreating a new meal from leftovers takes planning and a level of prowess that many people either have no time or interest in, so more power to you!

It’s best to store leftovers in smaller portions or only reheat the portion you want. As opposed to reheating a huge batch more than once. Many foods store fine in the freezer too if it’s something you can’t finish in 3 days. I tend to reheat only once. More than that not only does nutrition lessen but the flavor, too.
