Does anyone find that nothing sounds “good” after breaking an extended fast?

During my fasts (usually 3-5 days), I’ll dream of all the delicious food I want to eat when I’m done. But after breaking my fast with something small, I find that I’m not craving anything. I have to force myself to eat after that. Does anyone else notice this?

Answer

Yes! I am currently on hour 237 (day 10) of my fast and I feel like there isn’t anything in the world worth breaking my fast, not even my favorite go-to food. I can easily look at videos and photos of food and not be tempted like I was on the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th day. I also deliver for Postmates over the weekend and I can appreciate the aroma from the food, but I can leave it at that. I have no desire to eat any food at the moment and it feels great.

Answer

I don’t have to force eating but my appetite is certainly blunted; I’m not experiencing strong cravings for anything in particular. I do miss eating cereal… I usually break my fast with that. But it is certainly anti-climatic when I whanna eat after a fast and it is not as satisfying.

Thank God; I use it to keep things reasonably clean and snack-free.

Answer

I’ve only done a handful of them now but in my experience I’m hungry looking forward to food all day leading up to breaking my fast but once I eat even a little I quickly lose interest in eating much more, and a lot of those cravings disappear quickly.
