Does eating a lot of nitric oxide remove arterial plaque ?
Can one still eat a diet high in trans fat and saturated fat and remain healthy by counteracting those food by eating tons of nitric oxide ?
AFAIK, Nitric oxide is a vasodilator. It doesnt remove plaque, just reduces incidence of coronary events by dilating blood vessels. It will not reduce atherosclerosis.
Also be aware of how you are consuming products that supposedly increase NO as some methods are more efficient than others in actually producing the desired result.
Edit: in addition to its vasodilating mechanisms, it appears to also decrease platelet proliferation which will slow down atherosclerosis.
Absense of NO has a greater effect than too much NO on atherosclerosis. Unless you have some dysfunction where your body has impaired NO production, supplemental NO probably has little affect.https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1089860306000541?casa_token=Xz8ioYDbR7EAAAAA:KqCsbexmIRicltYlR78ALrYfuXjDUHgnmpULTwDp5xp0g9cxl_22Xl940eHbg–x32CJEQshrGQ
