Does how many hours you fast depend on what you ate last?

so if i ate a tiny meal last night at 9, and my first meal is this morning at 10. lets say it took 1 hour to digest that meal. so i fasted for 13hours , 12 of those with no food digesting at all

but lets say i ate a giant meal last night at 9 and it took 5 hours to fully digest, now i fasted for 13 hours, but in reality only 8 were without food in my stomach, so i didnt achieve autophagy, right?

i didnt see anyone talk about this so im asking here

Answer

The digestion doesn’t work like that: one hour for something small and five for something big. We start fasting when we stop chewing on our last morsel. This is the moment when you press the start button on your fasting app. Most apps tell you that you have 3 hours of rising your blood sugar level. Then your blood sugar drops, and after 9 hours, it settles down. 11 hours is the fat burning stage, 14 hours is marked for ketosis, and 16 for autophagy. That process is the reason not to snack constantly because you never finish that cycle.
