Answer

Fasting kills your microbiome off. Which means you should be able to reset it as you prefer. Get a probiotic with the types of bacteria you want to repopulate your gut with, and eat the types of foods that will nourish said bacteria.

It doesn’t take an incredibly long time for this to occur. They’re bacterium. Very short life cycles. I’d say water fasting for 7-10 days would kill off a massive chunk of them. enough so for you to repopulate with the bacterium of your choice. Don’t think you need to necessarily dry fast for a long period of time to achieve the goal. Water fasting should suffice.

Answer

Well, youd have to dry fast for a very long time

If thats your goal then Id rather do a ex longer water fast. 90 days should entirely reset your microbiome. No bacteria or parasites relying on food for fuel can survive for that long.

Then you take good bacteria supplements and foods during the redeed.

Dr Rhonda patrick has some gopd writeups and recs on gut microbiome foods and supplements.
