Fasting time and workout times

Hi all, I am new with intermittent fasting and I need some help with setting up workout times in terms of work. For preference I would ideally like to fast between the hours of 7pm-11am breaking my fast at 11am. My only issue is that I work from 7am to 7pm and my commute is 45 mins and honestly waking up at 4:30 to work out then ear at 11am isn’t worth it to me. My question is, if I work out after my last meal, would it not be wise to then be in fasting mode? The only time I’m really able to work out is after work after my last meal.

Answer

I think the key is what is your goals. i.e are you looking for better health, losing weight, gain lean/muscle mass, and/or?

If its just general weight loss, etc, doing IF ( calorie restriction ), + some workout ( which burns calories ), its already great. Based on what you describe, if you can only do it or afford the time to workout after work then just go at it. Key is consistency and sustainability. The schedule and timings have to work for you. Just keep to your IF schedule and not overeat/binge eating during your feeding windows.

That said, there are of course pros/cons of working out at different states etc, but those pales in comparison if say, you are missing a workout or skipping off your routine and having too many cheats days etc.
