How long do I have to fast to cleanse my body?

I want to rid my gut biome of all the nasty stuff I’ve developed in it from eating junk food consistently for so many years.

I also want to see what it feels like to have no poop/waste in my body at all

How long would I have to water fast to achieve these?

Answer

That’s not how biology works.

Your body is quite good at removing toxins, if it wasn’t you would be dead. If you want to “detoxify” simply stop consuming them, in short order your body will flush the last traces of them. It is that simple.

What you can’t get rid of as easily is the damage those toxins did to your body. Take smoking, one of the most toxic things people do to themselves. Getting rid of all traces of smoking doesn’t take that long at all. Getting rid of the damage it did to your body takes upwards of 20 years, that’s what it takes for your body to heal and lower the increased risks to the level of a non smoker.

Not to say that fasting doesn’t help. It does but it is not a magic bullet.

Answer

well to be fair the only real solution is to take a hard look at the foods you are eating, after that fasting will/can act as a reset button, fasting could help you understand your relationship with foods and hopefully make better choices in the future.

the length of that fast really will be determined by a lot of factors but if you can try a 1 day fast then see how you feel then increase it a bit longer but but fasting is only a small part of your journey you will need to check/understand why you are at this crossroad it can be hard mentally to realize we made mistakes and change.

Good luck
