And intermittent fasting has been a huge part of my success! For about three months now, I’ve been focused on losing weight by making small lifestyle changes. One of those changes has been a daily ~15 hour fast (9pm-Noon).
I realized I don’t eat breakfast anyway and I shouldn’t be eating snacks after dinner. Once I committed to those changes, I stopped getting hungry during those hours.
This sub / community has been super helpful. For me, the most intimidating thing about IF was been how strict and limiting it can be. Then, I started seeing juice fasts, how folks mix intuitive eating with breaking their fast, and a few other ways to create a sustainable IF schedule.
I drink milk & coffee in the morning. If I’m hungry, I’ll eat a little sooner. I won’t skip dinner if I don’t eat it before 9pm. Giving myself wiggle room and not forcing myself to be 100% accurate to the minute has kept me on IF way longer than any calorie counting/ diet I’ve ever done.
Now that I’ve stopped gaining weight, it’s time to make a couple more little changes and start losing it!
I always think IF doesn’t get enough credit for Halting The Gain for many people. I suppose that gets eclipsed by the reality that the weight starts falling away. But without those first few weeks of Halting The Gain, I suppose many wouldn’t stick with it.Congratulations on your good work. You seem to have adapted quickly.
