Gaining weight first week?

As the title suggests. I’m one week into doing IF 16:8. I know one week is nothing but, I’m just wondering if I’m starting it out wrong?

I’m (21M) 6ft2, and weight roughly 98kg. I have been drinking more water, cut out carbs but not fully. I’m eating like I usually do when I want to lose weight, except now I’ve added IF to it.

Though I feel like my belly looks bigger than before I even got on IF, and I actually went up a pound. Am I doing something wrong?

No you’re just fine. It’s normal and likely water weight. Stick to it and don’t weigh again until you’re at minimum 3 weeks into it. The body doesn’t even start to react until then. It takes time to retrain and recondition your body after you’ve been treating it a certain way your entire life.
