Im a skinny guy who wants to gain weight

Hey, i know fasting nornally is done by people who are trying to be skinnier. The thing is: fasting have a lot of health benefits.

Eating a lot of calorie dense food, I don’t know if you like nuts but 100g of peanut butter have like 500-600 calories and eating 100g is really easy. Eat high fat foods, it’s really easy to overeat on those. Fasting has a lot of health benefits, but maybe it’s not the right time for you to fast if you wanna gain weight. Maybe gain weight and then start fasting, once you know you can eat a lot in a short span of time. You should get used to eating a lot in a some time. Just like people get used to eating less on a diet you can learn to eat more too.

You could eat more between fasts and then do occasional multi-day fasts.

In the end, I don’t think you have any choice but to counteract the fasting with additional eating unless you want to lose weight.

You may find relevant advice over at r/ketogains. I know you haven’t said anything about keto being relevant for your, but those gots are serious about the business of building muscle and many of them are incorporating fasting. It’s just a place to look.

And why do you think you need to gain weight? If you need to gain muscle you need to do strength training or sports specific training. Your appetite would adjust accordingly. Otherwise overeating would lead to gaining fat.
