Answer

Fresh Blueberries are better.

Generally, whenever you create a derivative product of a conventional food, there is more potential for there to be less of the actual food present and by extension, any benefits that actual food provides.

I commented this on another thread, but Apple Juice is a great example. Go to your grocery store sometime and check the ingredients of the apple juice that’s available to see if you’re getting actual Apple Juice, or Apple Juice Concentrate with Sugar and Water. There’s a Big difference between the two. One is actual juice, the other is apple flavored sugar water.

Most blueberry powders I’ve seen online are supplements. You should be very wary of any supplement that is anything other than something that’s difficult to get from food. So think Vitamin D3, maybe Zinc, Creatine, etc.

At the very least, check the ingredients and if it’s a supplement, see if you can find any information on how they formulate their extract.

Answer

I may be a bit of a hippie but I personally believe no supplements will ever be as good as their equivalent in whole foods. Nature knows best how to package and deliver our nutrition. That doesn’t mean I’m against supplementing certain vitamins or macros, but when given the choice I would opt to prioritize whole foods.
