I love peanutbutter and would like to eat the healthy alternative without palm oil. But it just doesn’t taste good compared to other peanutbutter with palm oil. It’s so much thinner and stickier and I miss texture. Is there a good/thicker alternative peanutbutter without palm oil? Or can I add something to make it better?
I ask what kind of peanut butter are you eating? Peanut butter in its natural form is a healthy food. Yes peanut butter has a lot of calories and fats but so do avocados. Both are good for you, in moderation. Try a natural peanut butter that is just peanuts and salt (Trader Joe’s has an incredible one).
Last I checked, several brands do this
Whole foods
Whole Earth
Smucker’s
Some might have a small amount of salt, but that won’t affect texture and it’s more often than not a really small amount. Pure peanut butter is delicious
I also dislike thin peanut butter, so I pour off the layer of oil at the top (this is sacrilegious I know lol). But this allows it to have a much denser texture, which I love!Smuckers natural peanut butter is pretty accessible and tastes great in my opinion.
However, peanut butter without palm oil is never going to have the same thick-yet-silky texture as pb with palm oil. Sunflower seed butter will be the closest texture to pb with palm oil.
If you can find it, there’s Valencia peanut butter. Valencia peanuts are naturally sweeter than regular peanuts. The one I used to buy at the store I go to (they haven’t had any more in weeks) was called Wholesome Pantry Organic Creamy Valencia Peanut Butter. It has only peanuts and salt.
Alternatively, you could try almond butter. It tastes way better. Just make sure you get the natural kind with only almonds and salt.
I don’t have a suggestion for you because I also love the creamy texture of palm oil PB! But I came here to say I’m sorry everyone is just informing you peanuts and salt are healthy and make your own pb instead of giving answers to your actual question for an alternative ha ha.
