Just finished my first 3 day, lost 16lbs! Brain injury recovery.

For starters I am 6’5” (195.5cm) and SW: 372lbs (168.7kg) CW: 356lbs (161.5kg). GW 275lbs (125kg). Tdee: 4,200 cal

I understand most of it is water, but it’s still very encouraging. I had a bad concussion two months ago, and have several complications from it (I am in medical care, and they are aware of my fasting). Each time I’ve fasted my brain and thoughts has been much clearer, I also understand the autophogy and elevated bdnf should be very therapeutic for my brain as well.

My plan is to continue doing 66/6 and 90/6 each week (keeps it static on Wednesday/Saturday), eventually weaning to a one meal in a 1 hour window.

I have done OMAD and 5 day fasts in the past, I got crippling anxiety on day 5 each time I tried to do longer, so think this is a long term solution that I can do for 2-3 months before going back to omad or maybe 18/6 for maintenance.

Any thoughts or recommendations? Has anyone here had noticeable benefits to their brain or brain injury recovery from fasting?

Honestly as a former fatass myself it wouldn’t surprise me if 10 of those lbs were actually fat, when I weighed 360, I dropped 30 lbs my first 2 weeks on a 1500 calorie diet because my caloric maintenance was around 12k at the time ( played football/ate heavy most of my life, 3 plates of food a night for dinner ffs lol )
