NSV: losing inches

(TLDR: Since mid January 2023, I have lost 3 inches from the fattest parts of my body!)

I love seeing everyone’s progress photos here. It’s inspiring to me. But I’ve felt discouraged that my weight loss seems to be happening more slowly than some. I wish I was seeing the kind of dramatic progress that some people here have posted— 20 pounds in a single month, multiple sizes dropped since the new year.

I’m a cis woman in my late 30s. I’ve been overweight since puberty and I carry most of my weight in my belly and bust.

I’ve mostly been doing 20:4 with some OMAD. I did IF for some months last summer and lost weight, but then fell off the wagon. Now I’m 2 months in and feeling good about it.

I don’t keep a scale in my home but I did take some body measurements when I restarted IF in January, at my heaviest (likely around 200lbs). Tonight I measured again and learned I’ve lost 3 inches from my bust and 3.5 from my waist!

I still don’t think I’ve lost much weight— I’m not sure anyone around me can see a visible difference on my apple-shaped body. But I know I feel different and it was so encouraging to see physical evidence on the tape measure.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else isn’t seeing big scale number changes. Measure to keep track!

Thank you for sharing!!! Keep going :)As someone else doing nsv to keep going and track progress, it can be a little disheartening when you don’t have drops in weight to go off of, but taking photos and measurements are key. Good luck!

I’m the same! Been doing IF since January and have only lost a couple pounds, but loads of inches. I’m now wearing clothes a size lower :). I’m only weighing myself once every couple weeks now as it seems to demotivate me.
