Question about calories intake

My question is, when you do the 18:6 intermittenfasting, then you should eat in a time frame of 6 hours and your calorie intake is 2500 calories and you should only eat 2-3 meals, of course you’re in a calorie deficit, but isn’t the calorie deficit not too big? I can’t imagine eating 2 meals with clean food with over 1000 calories. How do you do it?

Answer

I had the same problem. To eat more there’s basically 2 ways of going at it.

  1. Eat foods greater in calorie density

  2. Eat foods that taste better

I did the latter. Learning to cook two tasty healthy meals that you can rotate through consistently will make it easy (what I did). For example 2 turkey burgers each with a piece of cheese is basically 1000 calories.

Answer

I usually do a smoothie for breakfast and a bowl for lunch that has grains, greens, roasted sweet potatoes, protein and avocado, plus whatever else is on the menu. If I’m hungry later I’ll have some nuts. I never count calories though, I just listen to what works for my body. Sometimes I don’t eat enough and I feel it, so I know that next time I’ll have more. I’ve just tested out what works and what doesn’t through trial and error. But I think the best part about IF is that it isn’t, for me, about restricting or depriving myself. It’s about eating food that sustains me.
