Question about food and fat

Hello I fast everyday and in my eating hours I eat around 1300 calories. Its been that way for a long time and I managed to lose around 20 pounds but I wonder if I am really doing it right? Sometimes I eat 1300 calories and in these are food with low amount of fat and sometimes I eat still only 1300 calories but I ate a hamburger or pizza slice. Yes I managed to get it to 1300 and exercised a bit too sometimes but still it had a lot of fat. Is it wrong to eat these foods that have a lot of fat even though I fast and eat restricted calories? and honestly its not always junk food! It can be spaghetti or my favourite dumplings with meat, fat can be lurking anywhere honestly and I kinda eat too much of it.

Answer

I don’t limit anything for my one meal. I don’t binge, but I cook and eat what I want until I am full. I don’t snack and I don’t eat sweets at all. Very limited alcohol (once a week, 1-2 glasses of wine). The freedom of this lifestyle suits me because depriving myself only builds resentment and the reaction of saying “f this” and gaining the weight back.

Answer

Fat doesn’t make you fat. As long as you have no health conditions exacerbated by a high fat diet then healthy fats are fine.

In fact, fat can keep you full longer which makes it easier to lose weight. And low fat food replacements often swap the fat with sugar which isn’t great.
