Weight loss and muscle

What is the best way to loose fat and maintain muscle?, I’m a person that goes to the gym 5 or 6 days a week but I’m afraid that if I fast I would loose a lot of muscle, I’m 290 pounds 6’2, most of my weight is fat but I have a proper amount of muscle because I’ve been hitting the gym around 9 months with no diet at all.

Most “muscle loss” is fat and water within the muscle. Not the muscle itself. You could supplement with EAAs which would be anti-catabolic. Not sure you can fast and supplement without losing muscle while working out fasted because breaking down muscle makes it easier for the body to use in place of fat. You can absolutely fast and maintain though.
