I always look forward to my fasts because I seem to get so much more time during the day (less time focused on preparing meals and eating)…I also get additional rest and relaxation. So I focus on those things and that generally gets me through the initial two day hump.

Prepare? Hell, so far, I’ve surprised myself with the start date of half of my fasts.

I’ll plan to fast through Saturday and Sunday, and then Friday at lunch time, I go “Hmm, I haven’t eaten since 6pm yesterday. So technically that’s 17 hours without food. I should just make this the start of my fast and I’ll feel like I skipped the first 17 hours.”
