Why are these macros so far off from the calorie count?

Using https://fairlife.com/light-ice-cream/vanilla-ice-cream/ as an example: (image: https://imgur.com/a/ZySVC4x)

7g fat = 63 calories

22g carbs - 0g fiber = 88 calories

9g protein = 36 calories

Total: 187 calories, and it lists 150

And should I base my food intake on the listed macros, or the calories?

Answer

EPG is not responsible for the difference between calorie count and macros in this case as it’s not listed in the product ingredients. The reason is most likely due to allulose, which contributes to the total carb content but is 0.4kcal/g.

Here you go
