Around 100 calorie iced coffee in the morning and 1000 calories for my meal in the evening. I know the coffee breaks my fast but will it negate my weight loss? I’ve only been doing this around a week. I don’t weigh so I don’t know if I’ve lost but I feel pretty good. No exercise but two young children so lots of activity.
It won’t fully negate your weight loss. But by breaking your fast, you will lose many of the benefits of IF as compared to just calorie-counting: the morning insulin spike will likely make you feel hungrier during the rest of the day, and your body won’t get to experience the full extended period of low insulin that can help improve your insulin sensitivity and keep your metabolism up.
It’s still worth doing, even if you aren’t ready to give up the iced coffee with sugar and cream. But I would suggest trying to switch to iced black coffee, or at least cut out the sugar and reduce the total calories below 50. (Try cold brew coffee — it’s so much less bitter, and I actually prefer it black. If you absolutely must have cream, use 1-2 teaspoons of heavy cream.)
It will technically break your fast and probably make your progress slower but I drink coffee with a splash of cream sometimes and I’ve still been successfully losing weight. I would suggest you not use sugar. I will sometimes get a cold brew or drink a hot coffee with a bit of cream
First of all, 1100 calories a day???Sounds like to less…
But to be honest, no this would not be OMAD.. So if your goal is OMAD, then its no go.
If your goal is to loose weight and get the benefits of fasting, 100 calories in the morning is fine. Its not OMAD, but if that works for you.. Then go for it. Who really cares what its called, and its your life 😀Do this for 14-21 days and see how it works, then remove it later if you want to do real OMAD.
