I know many will say it doesn’t really matter but isn’t it true that the more you fast throughout the day, the better it is as you’re giving your digestive system a break and allowing for autophagy?
The fuller benefits of fasting / achieving autophagy start around 16 hours of fasting, I believe. The minimum that people suggest for those interested in fasting is a 16:8 split for the eating window.
You may not necessarily get the full benefits of fasting by eating 2-3 meals (maybe if you only ate one), but you will “give your body a break” in a few ways.
In terms of insulin sensitivity, I recently saw a lecture explaining that fewer large insulin spikes is better than constant, smaller insulin spikes. I wish I had it on me so I could link it.
