7-day fast to 21-day fast - differences?

i’ve done a seven day fast in december, and while most of it was miserable, the last two days were the easiest. thus i figured i’d try again and go longer this time, planning for at least 14 days, ideally 21.

any advice from you seasoned fasters (except hitting the electrolytes)? do new challenges creep up past the one-week-mark? anything i should be aware of? thanks :)

Think it varies from person to person. There’s also two ways to burn out: mentally and physically. I work from home, and naturally I’m a homebody. So it’s much easier for me physically as I don’t have to be on my feet all day moving around at work, although I do have a treadmill I walk on and have had no issues. But if your job is labor intensive the longer you go the harder it’ll be to pull off.

Whereas in my case I’m more likely to check out mentally. I’m home inside most of the day and while I can distract myself with some entertainment food still lurks around in my head especially as I’m the type of person that likes to eat when I watch any form of media. I still had that issue after 15 days in which is my highest so far, but that was the goal I set. It does get easier after like day 4 though.

My tip would be to find hobbies that adequately distract you that aren’t too labor intensive. For me it was drawing and reading because I really had to focus, whereas I could just mindlessly watch YouTube and twitch and just be thinking about food lol

The longer you go the more likely you run into family/friend events and/or triggers. Plan out your month and be aware of things that can derail your fast. Plan your exit strategy and make sure you have a plan for any events over the longer period of time.

Kuchisabshii is real, and it’s ended many a good fast. Plan for more things than just your electrolytes.
